Nestled in a hidden valley among the rolling hills of south central Pennsylvania is a small family farm that is one of Adams County’s treasures. Its name pays tribute to the beech trees that flourished in the woodlands and the numerous springs that trickle through the fields.
Through the years, the farm has seen many changes. The property, which dates back to 1751, has been greatly reduced from the original 300 acres to 10.5. However, the classic buildings have been carefully rennovated and the rolling fields, stone walls, lawns, fountains, arbors, pond and gardens provide a picturesque backdrop for local events.

Some of the gardens, such as the 4-square perennial garden, are formal while others are workhorses that produce vegetables, herbs and flowers. The majority of the crops grown on the farm are heirloom varieties, which are third-party verified by Certified Naturally Grown. All of the crops are grown without chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers and are available to the community through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
