Josh Fidler’s love of food was developed early in life, influenced by the cooking of his parents and grandparents. Josh started in the food industry at age 15, washing dishes and assembling sandwiches at a downtown Gettysburg deli. He was instantly hooked and continued on to other positions in the restaurant business.
While in Santa Barbara completing a BS in digital imaging, he was blown away by the different cuisines and flavors he encountered. Excited to continue cooking, Josh returned home and took a job at Demetri’s, Greek restaurant. Under Chef Jim, he learned technique and the inner workings of a kitchen. He used his spare time reading cookbooks and experimenting at home. In 2009, Josh decided to pursue his culinary passion full time. He worked for several successful local establishments, and ran an underground supper club from his home. 154 Supperclub paired Josh with other local chefs and presented private diners with elaborate 8-12 course meals. However, Josh wanted to share this vision with a broader audience so with the experience he had gained, he partnered with his brother, Dan, and opened Fidler & Co. Craft Kitchen in 2014. Josh’s passion for great food is stronger now than ever. Working with local growers and producers he hopes to make his mark on the growing regional food scene. In 2015, Josh was voted Gettysburg's top chef. We are honored that Josh will be our guest chef in June and July. Stay tuned for terrific menus. The EntertainmentWe are very excited to have Charlie Fry return for his second appearance at Beech Springs Farm! Charlie and the Klinger McFry Band, which bears his name, played at our July farm-to-table dinner in 2015. As the lead vocalist with Klinger McFry for many years, Charlie is well known to Gettysburg residents.
Charlie recently decided to become a solo act and take his musical style and storytelling on the road. Playing the bass, guitar and mandolin, he puts his own twist on classic songs from all genres of music. During the evening, Charlie will be playing songs that range from Fleetwood Mac to Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan and others. |
